 "Namisa Mdlalose Bizana plays Persephone, and I believe she carries the most important role in the show. Persephone represents the imbalance of the world, bringing the warmth of spring and summer to the earth before being forced to spend the next six months in the cold, controlled Underworld. Bizana certainly brings that warmth to the stage. I found myself always smiling every time she was on stage, especially in songs like “Livin’ It Up on Top” and “Our Lady of the Underground.” As Persephone, Bizana reminds us that even in the darkest times, there can be a flicker of light—and it’s that light we need to hold onto and nurture to overcome the darkness."
